Last December we went on a river cruise and visited the festive holiday markets in Germany. We enjoyed many cups of hot chocolate with friends we met on the trip - often with a little shot of brandy as a night cap. I was working on a series of beverage paintings at the time, and I knew I wanted to try to capture the warmth and comfort that a cup of hot chocolate brings.
