This beautiful peony was a commission for two wonderful friends. This was a big departure for me since my niche is more small detailed paintings - but what fun! I love flowers, however, as an artist I never painted many because I wasn't sure I could do anything unique that hadn't already been done. Thanks to the inspiration of my friends and some spectacular later afternoon sunlight, I had the pleasure of painting this peony with its soft glow and wide spectrum of colors.
